Rewst vs Pia: build every workflow, or deploy the ones Pia already built

Rewst is a low-code automation platform for the whole MSP, from billing to onboarding, and it pays off once someone on your team owns it full time. Pia is a help desk automation platform that runs inside your PSA with pre-built automations for the requests your techs see every day, so it fits MSPs whose pain is the ticket queue and who will staff an admin to keep it tuned.

What each one is

Rewst
Rewst is a low-code workflow automation platform built for MSPs. You draw a process on a visual canvas, a RoboRewsty assistant and 100+ prebuilt Crates give you a head start, and native multi-tenancy runs the result across every client. It listed 80+ integrations in September 2026, had raised $104 million by its August 2024 round, and said in June 2026 that more than 1,500 MSPs use it.
Pia
Pia calls itself the automation platform built for MSPs, running from client request to resolved ticket inside your PSA. It ships pre-built automations for onboarding, offboarding, access requests and mailbox changes (Pia says hundreds), SmartForms for client self-service, AI ticket triage, and since May 2026 a Microsoft Teams app called Pia Chat. Pia's own homepage claims 60% of service requests automated and 3X more tickets closed per technician.

Rewst vs Pia side by side

Rewst Pia
What it is Low-code workflow automation platform for the whole MSP. You draw the process on a canvas and Rewst runs it. Help desk automation platform that runs inside your PSA, with pre-built automations, SmartForms for client self-service and AI ticket triage.
How you set it up Build workflows on a visual canvas, one per scenario. A RoboRewsty assistant and 100+ prebuilt Crates give you a head start, and the logic is still yours to design. Deploy and configure Pia's pre-built automations and SmartForms for each client. Custom work uses Pia's Editor, APIs and VS Code support.
Who runs it day to day A dedicated builder. MSPs on our calls described it as a full-time role. An admin who configures and tunes the automations. One r/msp user described a "nearly full-time AI trainer/PIA Admin on staff" for over two years.
Time to first result Months. One MSP spent over a year with two Rewst partners on a single onboarding workflow. Weeks, by Pia's own claim of "live in weeks, not months". MSPs on our calls described longer.
Does it resolve tickets Only through a workflow you built for that ticket type. Rewst announced AI-native features in June 2026, and the core is still workflow execution. Yes, for requests that match a deployed automation or SmartForm. Pia's homepage claims 60% of service requests automated.
Reach 80+ integrations across the MSP stack, including billing and security tools, with ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA, Datto, NinjaOne and N-able among them. ConnectWise, Autotask and HaloPSA; Azure AD, Exchange Online and Microsoft 365; IT Glue, SharePoint, Pax8 and other distributors. About 30 tools listed, and no RMM vendor among them.
Where approvals happen Wherever you build them into the workflow. Inside the PSA workflow Pia runs. Client requests come in through SmartForms and Pia Chat in Microsoft Teams.
Pricing Not published. Usage-based per executed task or a flat rate per managed endpoint, and no trial. Not published. A usage-based option since June 2024, or fixed plans with unlimited usage, quoted by sales.

Where each shines, and where it falls short

Where Rewst wins
Anything beyond the help desk. Billing reconciliation, security alert handling, vendor workflows and client onboarding sequences all run on the same canvas, and 80+ integrations reach the tools those processes touch. Build a workflow once and multi-tenancy runs it for every client.
Where Rewst falls short
The platform needs an owner. A 25-year MSP veteran told us: "You need to dedicate a person and turn them into a business analyst who understands your business from a super detailed, process-oriented angle." One MSP spent over a year with two Rewst partners on a single onboarding workflow, and there is no published price or trial, so budgeting starts with a sales call.
Where Pia wins
The help desk requests are already built. Onboarding, offboarding, access and mailbox changes come pre-built, SmartForms let a client raise a request that resolves without a technician, and it all runs inside the PSA your team already works in. Pia is also in the Pax8 marketplace, which matters if that is how you buy.
Where Pia falls short
Deployment is only the start. Each automation is configured for your clients, so someone owns that work, and one r/msp user described a "nearly full-time AI trainer/PIA Admin on staff" for over two years. Pia lists no RMM vendor on its integrations page, so endpoint fixes stay with a technician, and pricing is by quote: one MSP owner told us in April 2026 that a quote near $8,000 a month was negotiated to about $3,000.

Pick Rewst if, pick Pia if

Pick Rewst if

  • You have, or will hire, someone whose job is building and maintaining automations.
  • Your biggest time sinks are outside the help desk: billing, security response, complex client onboarding.
  • You want control of every step in every process and can wait months for the payoff.

Pick Pia if

  • Your pain is routine help desk requests: onboarding, offboarding, access and mailbox changes.
  • You would rather configure pre-built automations than design workflows from a blank canvas.
  • You can give an admin ownership of tuning it, and a quoted price does not put you off.

If neither fits: the third option

Rallied is an AI agent that resolves requests in your PSA. It reads each ticket, does the work in your PSA, RMM and Microsoft 365, and writes up what it did, so there is no workflow to build first and no automation to deploy per client. Most MSPs are live in under a week, and it costs $150 a month for 2,000 credits, which suits an MSP that wants the routine queue closed without staffing the tool.

Rewst Pia Rallied
Resolves tickets Only through a workflow you built for that ticket type. Rewst announced AI-native features in June 2026, and the core is still workflow execution. Yes, for requests that match a deployed automation or SmartForm. Pia's homepage claims 60% of service requests automated. Yes. Reads each ticket in your PSA, does the work and writes up what it did.
Time to first result Months. One MSP spent over a year with two Rewst partners on a single onboarding workflow. Weeks, by Pia's own claim of "live in weeks, not months". MSPs on our calls described longer. Most MSPs connect their PSA and go live in under a week, starting in Plan Mode so you can check its work first.
Who runs it day to day A dedicated builder. MSPs on our calls described it as a full-time role. An admin who configures and tunes the automations. One r/msp user described a "nearly full-time AI trainer/PIA Admin on staff" for over two years. Nobody full time. Your service manager sets the guardrails and approves anything that needs a sign-off.
Where approvals happen Wherever you build them into the workflow. Inside the PSA workflow Pia runs. Client requests come in through SmartForms and Pia Chat in Microsoft Teams. On the ticket in your PSA, with per-action defaults you can tighten or loosen.

Questions MSPs ask about Rewst vs Pia

Do Rewst and Pia do the same thing?

Both automate MSP work and both connect to ConnectWise, Autotask and HaloPSA, but the shape is different. Rewst is a canvas you build any process on, from billing to onboarding. Pia is a set of pre-built help desk automations you deploy and tune, so it covers less ground and needs less building.

Which one is faster to get running?

Pia, by both accounts. Pia's site says live in weeks, not months, and MSPs on our calls described a longer tuning period after that. Rewst publishes no setup time, and MSPs on our calls described months, with one spending over a year on a single onboarding workflow.

What do Rewst and Pia cost?

Neither publishes a price. Rewst quotes a usage-based rate per executed task or a flat rate per managed endpoint, with no trial. Pia offers a usage-based option or fixed plans with unlimited usage. One MSP owner told us in April 2026 that a Pia quote near $8,000 a month was negotiated down to about $3,000.

Can I run Rewst and Pia together?

Nothing stops you, because they overlap less than they look. Rewst can run billing, security and vendor processes while Pia takes the help desk requests. The cost is two platforms to own, two sets of automations to keep tuned and two quotes to negotiate, so the MSPs we talk to pick one and staff it properly.
